Top Stories 👩‍💻

Highlights on everything Giveth.

🛡 TheDAO's Ethereum Security QF Round has officially wrapped up. Results are live, matching funds have been distributed, and 134 projects have received their share of 638 ETH+ in funding. A huge thank you to Wintermute for contributing $200K to the matching pool just before results were announced, Quantstamp for adding $50K, CertiK for providing $50K to ETHSecurity badgeholders to donate, and the many other contributors who helped more funding reach Ethereum security.

📊 Want to see the round from every angle? We created a public dashboard where you can explore the Ethereum Security QF Round data, test different QF settings, and see how matching outcomes shift.

🎙 Missed our Ethereum Security QF Round wrap-up Space? We were joined by Igor (Wintermute), Rabib (Quantstamp), Sean (Sigma Prime), and Matthias (ChainSecurity) to discuss the round, Ethereum security funding, underrated projects, and what the ecosystem should focus on next. Catch the recording and hear directly from some of the contributors who helped make the round possible.

📝 Engaged with TheDAO’s Ethereum Security QF Round in any way? We’d love to hear your feedback. We’re preparing a full public retrospective report in the coming weeks and will use community input to help shape it, so please take a few minutes to fill out the feedback form.

💧 Superfluid Season 6 is live on Giveth! From June 2 to August 31, donors can earn SUP by setting up recurring donations of $20+/month to any GIVbacks-eligible project. Choose a project once, keep your support flowing in real time, and earn rewards while backing public goods.

Bitfinding

post image

Bitfinding is building live-response infrastructure for Ethereum security: tools designed to act in the narrow window after an exploit begins, but before funds are gone. Their automated whitehat agent monitors Ethereum and L2s in real time, detects exploit patterns, validates rescue paths, and executes protective transactions when vulnerable assets can still be saved.

Since 2024, Bitfinding has rescued more than $1.5M in user and protocol funds, including $1M during the Balancer rescue in under 12 seconds. Their work highlights a critical gap in security today: Ethereum needs audits, monitoring, and research, but it also needs teams ready to intervene when an attack is already happening.

🔍Dedaub Decompiler is a free Ethereum security tool that helps researchers understand smart contracts even when their source code isn't publicly available. By turning raw EVM bytecode into readable Solidity-like code, it supports exploit investigations, incident response, and security research across major EVM chains.

🧰 soldb is an open-source, CLI-based Solidity debugger built to give the EVM ecosystem a stronger debugging foundation. Designed to plug into tools like Foundry, Hardhat, Tenderly, and block explorers, soldb helps developers debug Solidity contracts more easily across Ethereum L1 and EVM L2s.

🚨Coalition to Change Crypto Freezes and Recovery is tackling one of crypto's toughest challenges: what happens after funds are stolen. The initiative connects DeFi teams, VASPs, lawyers, regulators, and investigators to improve coordination, strengthen recovery processes, and help victims navigate the path toward recovering stolen assets.

Wintermute

post image

This month, we're giving a special shoutout to Wintermute, one of the leading liquidity providers in crypto and a long-time supporter of Ethereum security.

Just before the Ethereum Security QF Round results were announced, Wintermute stepped up with a $200,000 contribution to the matching pool, helping grow it from 500 ETH to 638 ETH+ and increasing the funding available to security projects across the ecosystem.

Their support reflects a continued commitment to strengthening Ethereum. In fact, exactly one year ago, Wintermute donated $1 million to SEAL, helping advance security and incident response efforts across the space.

Thank you, Wintermute, for helping make Ethereum more secure.
